Canadian man Tim Vallee shot dead in Honduras while vacationing

Toronto: Themy (Tim) Alexandre Vallée-Apostolakis, a 34-year-old Canadian also known as Tim Vallee was robbed and killed by two men as he left a bar with some friends on the island of Roatan, according to Honduran media reports.

Tim Vallee was reportedly working for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in British Columbia and was on holiday in Honduras this past week when he was robbed at gunpoint and shot in the head.

Canadian authorities aren’t saying much about the incident.The Canadian Embassy in Tegucigalpa said the incident happened around midnight but would provide no further details.

Canadian government officials are learnt to be providing consular assistance to the family and are in contact with local authorities to gather additional information.Some media reports say the fight erupted over a cell phone and the robbers got away with the cellphone.

Local media reports say police have identified two suspects: Eon Stewar Carter, 29, who they believe drove the truck, has been arrested; and a warrant has been issued for Roger Natividad Ruiz Avila, 22, who police allege was the shooter.
