Halifax man Michael Kevin Stanhope faces child pornography and sex assault charges

Halifax:Halifax police have laid sexual assault and child pornography charges against a 66-year-old Bayfield man, Michael Kevin Stanhope. Police searched his home and his business, Hairdressers Market on Hollis Street in downtown Halifax.

He was arraigned in Halifax provincial court Thursday on one count each of sexual assault and sexual touching and three counts of possession of child pornography besides other charges of threatening to cause bodily harm or death to the alleged victim. He also faces weapons-related charges.
