Ottawa: Prime Minister Stephen Harper today, greeted the Muslims in Canada on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
“Laureen and I extend warm Eid greetings to Muslims in Canada and around the world on this festive occasion, the prime minister said.
“Eid al-Fitr marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. As this solemn period of fasting and penitence concludes this evening, families, friends and communities will gather to celebrate the Feast of the Breaking of the Fast over the next three days to give thanks for the spiritual renewal and blessings acquired over the past month.
To all those marking this blessed occasion, we wish you a joyous and peaceful Eid al-Fitr, he said..
