Washington: The body of an missing Indian-American Northwestern University student, Harsha Maddula, who mysteriously disappeared over the weekend, has been found by a fisherman in a harbour in Wilmette near the school’s suburban Chicago campus.
Maddula, 18, disappeared on Saturday after he left a party near Northwestern University campus. On Saturday, some of his friends left the second party and headed on foot to a third about a quarter-mile away. When they arrived there, they realised that Harsha, who showed no signs of being drunk, was gone.
An autopsy will be performed Friday to determine what caused the death.
Maddula, from New Hyde Park, N.Y., disappeared after leaving an off-campus party after midnight last Friday, setting off days of searching by police and fellow students. His family had offered a $25,000 reward for information on his whereabouts.
