New Westminster homicide victim identified as John Carlo Embo Lapuz

John Carlo Embo Lapuz has been identified as homicide victim in the New Westminster incident that happened on September 29. Police Department received a phone call to assist the BCAS for a stabbing victim in the 500 block of 3rd Avenue.

BCAS transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased .

IHIT can now confirm that the victim has been identified as 26 year old John Carlo Embo Lapuz.  In 2008 John legally changed his name to January Marie Lapuz.

“The investigation remains active and on-going as we continue to look for a motive and a suspect in this case.  We also need the public’s assistance as the search continues for a male who witnesses spotted running from the scene Saturday night”, says Sgt. Jennifer Pound.

He is described as an Asian male, mid twenties, approximately 5’5” tall, short black hair, muscular build, wearing a black muscle shirt and grey shorts.
