Chandigarh: In a gruesome incident, a man identified as Darshan Singh in Baghapurana town of Moga district bludgeoned his wife to death and later allegedly set the dead body of his wife Paramjit Kaur on fire to give an accident colour to the heinous crime on Thursday. The police have arrested Darshan Singh and started the investigation.
Surjit Singh Grewal, senior superintendent of police told SAANJ NEWS that some residences of the Baghapurana complained to the local police that something is happening at the house of Darshan Singh. “When police party reached at the spot the body of the Paramjit Kaur was burning. She had died at the spot,” said SSP.
Deceased’s brother Nirmal Singh of Sekha Kalan village in Moga district told police that about 25 years ago his sister Paramjit Kaur was married with Darshan Singh. “About five years ago Darshan Singh started harassing my sister and threatened her of dire consequences is he she revealed about the torture to anybody,” said NIrmal Singh. “A case has been registered against Darshan Singh under section 302 of Indian Penal Code at Baghapurana police station,”said SSP.
