Samana: Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that neither internal nor the external security of the Country was safe in the hands of Congress led UPA government at the Centre.
Addressing the media persons on the sidelines of a foundation stone laying ceremony function of an Indoor sports stadium at Public College Samana, Badal said that today the well awakened public of the country would teach a lesson to the Congress led UPA government during the coming Lok Sabha elections in 2014 for their discriminatory, apathetic and anti-people policies, which had enhanced inflation up to an un-controllable level in the country.
Replying to a query about the performance of UPA, Badal said that the Central Government was not performing its duty like a National Government, there were only few Congress led state governments which were being favoured by the Centre. Punjab had always given step motherly treatment, added Badal.
Emphasising the need to give full autonomy to the states, the Chief Minister said that today country needs a federal government structure in accordance with the constitutional recommendations for the consistent development of all states and every citizen. He said that the UPA government had thrown all the democratic norms and constitutional ethics in air, today states had no free hand even for the state issues like sanctioning of link roads and drinking water schemes etc.
CM also laid the foundation stone of Rs. 1.38 crore Indoor sports stadium at Public College Samana.
Conceding the demands of the area, Badal asked the Rural Development Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra to prepare a comprehensive plan for the overall development of the Samana constituency in a phased manner. He also announced Rs. 10 lac for the development works. Reiterating the firm commitment of SAD-BJP government to provide basic amenities for all the people of the state Mr. Badal said that SAD-BJP had been re-elected for the second term only because of its pro-people policies and programs, he also assured the people that this journey of development would be kept continue.
Rural Development Minister Surjit Singh Rakhra also spoke on the occasion.Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, NRI Charanjit Singh Rakhra, Mayor Jaspal Singh Pardhan, Randheer Singh Rakhra, Surjit Singh Ablowal and Tejinderpal Singh Sandhu were also present.
