Alan Peter Differ charged for bank robbery using fake firearm

Toronto:Toronto police have charged Alan Peter Differ for a robbery at bank using a fake firearm.

Police alleged the accused, disguised with a gas mask,walked into a bank on St. Clair Avenue West on Sep 24 and approached the teller and produced a replica long−barrel firearm, pointed it at the victim and handed her a black garbage bag ,asking for money.

The teller thinking that he was carrying an original weapon, handed him some quantity of money and he managed to flee.

A search warrant was executed at the home of the accused and police seized a quantity of money, including an imitation firearm.Police have charged Alan Peter Differ, 57, of Toronto for robbery and fake weapon charges.

The accused was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.
