Kidnapped Tarn Taran boy Jagjit found murdered

Tarn Taran: In another example of deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab, the police have recovered the body of 14-year-old boy Jagjit, who was kidnapped for ransom on Saturday, from the outskirts of Bhuchar Khurd village, 16 km from his native village Narla.

Jagjit, a Class VIII student of Government Secondary School, Khalra, was abducted on his way to school. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 12 lakh for his release.

The police has arrested Surjit Kumar, a close relative of the victim’s mother.Police say Surjit had confessed to have killed the boy as he had identified him and his accomplices.
