Winnipeg:A 34-year-old Winnipeg man Michael James Guimond has been charged with manslaughter in connection to the beating death of a Winnipeg teen Paris Rene Cameron Bruce.
Members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the area of the 300 block of Aberdeen Avenue on September 4 and located an injured 16 year old male who had been assaulted. Due to the serious nature of the assault, the victim succumbed to injuries a few days later.
As a result of an on-going investigation by members of the Homicide Unit a warrant of arrest was issued for Michael James Guimond, 34 years old of Winnipeg.
He has now been arrested by police in the area of Powers Street and Redwood Avenue.
He has been charged with Manslaughter and was detained in custody. Police believe the beating is tied to a confrontation between rival street gangs.
