Ottawa :The RCMP has charged 21 persons under a cross-country child pornography investigation in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.The charges include sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and distributing and possessing child pornography.
Police say more than 1,000 computers and hard drives were seized along with hundreds of thousands of images.
Police say more charges are pending.Fourteen different police units were involved in the operation. The investigation, also resulted in the rescue of one child in Saskatoon.
Launched in June, Operation Snapshot targeted high-risk offenders possessing and distributing images of child sexual abuse .
