Rita Adams, identified as victim of Parkdale murder

Toronto Police have identified a woman found dead inside a Parkdale rooming house at Maynard Avenue, Monday afternoon as Rita Adams, 59, of Toronto.

She was found stabbed to death at a Parkdale home and police believe that she knew her killer. A post-mortem examination has determined that she died from multiple stab injuries.

Toronto police say they were called to a Maynard Avenue home early Monday afternoon and they found a deceased woman who had obvious signs of trauma.

Police say Adams was a “spiritual advisor” and police is also looking to speak with those who knew the victim or those who had contact with her.

Investigators believe the suspect was known to Adams.
